SSS – Benefit Processing

Contribution Checking

Contribution checking is the verification process where SSS reviews a member’s posted monthly contributions to determine eligibility and compute benefit amounts. This ensures that benefit payouts are accurate and based on the member’s actual contribution history. Missing or incorrectly posted contributions can affect both eligibility and the final benefit payout.

During this stage, SSS checks whether contributions match employer reports, My.SSS records, and official remittance files. SSS also identifies contribution gaps that may disqualify claims or reduce benefits. For sickness and maternity benefits, contributions in a specific 12-month window are crucial; for retirement and disability benefits, total contributions and credited years matter more.

Members should regularly monitor their contribution postings through My.SSS. Reporting errors early prevents complications during the benefit processing stage.
