SSS – Benefit Processing

Document Review

Document review is the detailed examination of all records submitted for an SSS benefit claim. This stage checks the authenticity, completeness, and consistency of supporting documents such as medical certificates, birth records, employer forms, or death certificates. Claims cannot move forward without passing the document review stage.

During review, SSS compares submitted documents with internal databases, PSA records, and employer reports. Examiners ensure that documents clearly support the benefit claim and comply with SSS guidelines. When discrepancies arise—such as mismatched dates, missing signatures, or unclear scans—the claim is placed on hold until corrections are submitted.

Accurate documentation is the most important factor in passing document review. Members should double-check all paperwork before filing to avoid delays and ensure smooth processing.
