SSS – Benefit Processing

Eligibility Verification

Eligibility verification refers to the stage where SSS confirms whether the member meets the minimum requirements for a specific benefit. This includes checking contributions, employment status, employer compliance, and other legal criteria. Claims cannot be approved if the member fails eligibility verification.

For sickness and maternity benefits, SSS verifies whether the member has enough contributions within the qualifying period. For disability and retirement claims, SSS checks credited years of service, category of coverage, and contribution consistency. Beneficiary claims require verification of legal relationships and dependency.

Members can avoid delays by ensuring their personal information is updated, contributions are correct, and all prerequisites for the benefit have been met before filing.
