Why we are keeping this old “PHP 1,000” page

Members may still search the exact wording “Net Loan Proceeds Less Than PHP 1,000” because that phrase appeared in older SSS Salary Loan rejection messages and older online guidance.

Instead of deleting the URL, this page now answers that legacy search intent and then points members to the current Salary Loan rule. That keeps the page useful without teaching an outdated threshold.

What does “net loan proceeds” mean?

SSS currently defines the net Salary Loan amount as the approved loan amount less applicable service fee, pro-rated interest, and the outstanding balance of previous short-term member loans, if any.

Planning formula
Approved loan amount − service fee − pro-rated interest − previous short-term loan balance = estimated net proceeds

Current Salary Loan renewal minimum

Most members
₱2,000

Current minimum net proceeds for Salary Loan renewal after appropriate charges and prior-loan balance.

Kasambahay / household employee
₱100

Current exception stated by SSS for Salary Loan renewal.

The current public SSS rule states these minimum amounts specifically under Salary Loan Renewal. Do not automatically apply the ₱2,000 renewal threshold to a different transaction unless My.SSS or SSS identifies it as a renewal.

Why can your net proceeds become too low?

Previous Salary Loan balance

For a renewal, the balance of the existing Salary Loan is deducted from the proceeds of the new loan.

Other previous short-term member loan balance

SSS states that an outstanding balance of previous short-term member loans may be deducted when determining the net amount.

1% service fee

SSS currently deducts a service fee equal to 1% of the Salary Loan amount.

Pro-rated interest

SSS deducts pro-rated interest in advance from the date of loan granting up to the end of the month before the first amortization month.

What should you do if your proceeds are below the required amount?

  1. Open your Disclosure Statement. Use the actual approved amount, charges, interest, and prior-loan deduction instead of estimating from memory.
  2. Check your Salary Loan Statement of Account. Confirm the remaining balance and whether payments are already posted.
  3. Check whether this is a renewal. The current ₱2,000 minimum stated by SSS is a Salary Loan renewal rule.
  4. Do not keep submitting duplicate applications. If an existing transaction is already recorded, identify the rejection reason first.
  5. Use the master Rejection Guide if My.SSS shows a different rejection reason.
