SSS Maternity Next-Step Tool
SSS Maternity Benefit After Resignation Checker
Yes — resignation or unemployment does not automatically cancel your SSS maternity benefit. What matters is whether you meet the maternity qualifying rules and which filing/document path applies after separation.
This checker reviews your EDD, former-employer advance payment, separation date, MAT-1 status, and posted qualifying-period contributions.
Quick answer
If you qualify, SSS can pay you directly after separation. Your former Employee contributions do not disappear just because you resigned.
If the maternity event happens within six months from separation, additional separation documents may be required.

Your decision and next steps
This checker provides guidance. Final qualification depends on the official posted contribution record, payment timing, maternity notification, claim documents, and SSS evaluation.
What happens to your maternity benefit after resignation?
Resignation or separation does not erase contributions that were already validly posted. Former Employee contributions and later member-paid contributions may both count when they fall inside the qualifying period and are properly posted.
For a qualified member who is already separated from employment or currently unemployed, SSS pays the maternity benefit directly to the member through the approved disbursement account, subject to the applicable claim requirements.
When can separation documents be required?
If the delivery, miscarriage, or ETP happens during the employment period or within six months from the effective date of separation, SSS may require a Certificate of Separation showing the effective separation date and that no advance maternity payment was granted by the former employer.
When the certificate cannot be obtained for an SSS-recognized reason, the Affidavit of Undertaking – Non-Receipt of Advance Payment may be the substitute-document path.

Optional credit alternative
Need another credit option while waiting for maternity funds?
A credit card is separate from your SSS maternity benefit. If you are comparing another credit option, review eligibility, fees, interest and repayment capacity first.
