Quick answer: what does “Mismatch in Bank Account Name” mean?

For SSS Salary Loan proceeds sent through PESONet, SSS requires an active single bank account in the name of the member. That account must also be enrolled in the member’s My.SSS Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM).

If SSS or DAEM cannot validate the account ownership against your member record and proof of account, the account may not qualify for Salary Loan disbursement.

Do not change your legal/member name just to make two screens look identical. First identify which record is outdated or incorrect, then fix that record.

Current SSS Salary Loan bank-account rule

Account ownership
Member’s own account

The PESONet account used for Salary Loan proceeds must be in the name of the member.

Account type
Single account

SSS specifically states an active single account for PESONet Salary Loan proceeds.

Enrollment
Approved through DAEM

Salary Loan eligibility includes an active disbursement account enrolled through DAEM.

Can I use my spouse’s or a joint account?

For the PESONet option, the current Salary Loan rules say the account must be an active single account in the name of the member.

If the account is under your spouse, parent, child, relative, friend, company, or is a joint account, the cleaner fix is to use an eligible single account in your own name rather than trying to force the account through DAEM.

Maiden name vs married name

This is a common type of record mismatch: your SSS member record may still show one surname while your bank account already uses another.

Use this decision rule

SSS record is outdated, bank record is current

Correct the SSS member record. SSS Form E-4 supports correction of name and civil-status-related updates.

SSS record is current, bank record is outdated

Ask your bank what it requires to update the account-holder name, or use another eligible single account already in your current name.

You are not sure which record should change

Do not change both records at random. Compare your current legal/member documents and ask the institution with the outdated record to correct it.

What if only the middle name or middle initial is different?

A middle-name difference deserves checking, but do not assume that every missing middle initial automatically causes rejection.

Compare the name shown in your SSS member record with the name shown on your bank proof of account. If your SSS middle name itself is incorrect, SSS Form E-4 specifically supports correction of middle name and a change from middle initial to middle name.

If your names appear materially consistent but DAEM still rejects the enrollment, keep the rejection notice and ask SSS to identify the exact discrepancy before changing a correct record.

Spelling, spaces, prefix or suffix problems

SSS Form E-4 includes corrections for:

  • Last name
  • First name
  • Middle name
  • Prefix or suffix such as Jr., II or III
  • Simple spelling errors
  • Inclusion or deletion of spaces and special characters

If the SSS member name is wrong or outdated

Use the official SSS Member Data Change Request process rather than repeatedly re-enrolling the same bank account.

Basic path

  1. Identify the exact SSS name field that is wrong.
  2. Download or obtain SSS Form E-4 — Member Data Change Request.
  3. Prepare the documentary requirement applicable to your type of correction.
  4. Submit the correction through the applicable SSS Branch / Foreign Office / Service Office process.
  5. After the member record is corrected, recheck DAEM before filing the Salary Loan again.

If the bank-account name is wrong or outdated

If your SSS member record is correct but your bank still uses an outdated or incorrect account-holder name, the correction belongs on the bank side.

Ask the bank what documentation it requires to update the account-holder record. If updating that account is difficult, another option is to use a different eligible active single PESONet account already in your own name and enroll that account through DAEM.

What should I compare before submitting DAEM again?

1. SSS member name

Check the name currently recorded under your SSS membership.

2. Bank account owner

Make sure the account is your own eligible single account, not another person’s or a joint account.

3. Bank and account number

Recheck the bank selected in DAEM and the encoded account number.

4. Proof of account

Use proof that clearly identifies the member/account holder and account number. Do not upload proof for a different account.

What if the SSS name and bank name already look the same?

Do not keep changing a name that appears correct. A “name mismatch” result can still require checking the underlying proof and account details.

Recheck these before resubmitting

  • Is the account really under your name?
  • Is it a single account?
  • Did you choose the correct bank?
  • Is the account number encoded correctly?
  • Does the uploaded proof belong to that exact account?
  • Does the proof clearly show the account-holder name and account number?

If all of these appear correct, keep the rejection screenshot/email and supporting proof and ask SSS what specific mismatch it found. Avoid repeated identical submissions without knowing what needs correction.

SSS Bank Account Name Mismatch FAQ

SSS requires Salary Loan proceeds sent through PESONet to go to an active single bank account in the name of the member and enrolled in the member’s DAEM. A rejection can happen when the account owner or proof of account does not sufficiently match the member record used by SSS.

The current SSS Salary Loan rules require the PESONet account used for loan proceeds to be in the name of the member. A spouse’s, relative’s, or another person’s account should not be used as the member’s Salary Loan disbursement account.

The current SSS Salary Loan rule specifies an active single account in a PESONet participating bank in the name of the member. If your account is joint, use an eligible single account in your own name for the cleanest compliance with the rule.

Do not change one record blindly just to force a match. First identify which record should reflect your current legal/member information. SSS Form E-4 supports name and civil-status changes, while your bank can update its own customer record under its requirements.

Compare the SSS member record with the bank’s proof of account. SSS Form E-4 specifically supports correction of middle name or a change from middle initial to middle name. However, do not assume that every middle-initial difference automatically requires a change; use the actual DAEM rejection and SSS evaluation as the basis.

Yes. SSS Form E-4 includes correction of first, middle and last name, prefixes or suffixes, simple spelling errors, spaces and special-character corrections, subject to SSS documentary requirements.

Compare your My.SSS member name with a bank document that shows your name and account number, such as the proof accepted by SSS for bank information. Make sure the account number, bank, account ownership and uploaded proof all refer to the same eligible account.

Do not repeatedly submit the same details. Recheck the account owner, account type, bank, account number and proof of account. If they appear correct, keep the rejection notice and supporting documents and ask SSS to identify the specific mismatch or correction needed.
