SSS Salary Loan Pending for Employer Certification: Meaning & What to Do

If My.SSS says Pending for Employer Certification, your application is usually waiting for the employer-side certification step. If your employer already certified it but the status is still Pending, use the checker below for the next step.

What does “Pending for Employer Certification” mean in SSS Salary Loan?

Pending for Employer Certification means an employed member’s Salary Loan application is waiting for the employer-side electronic certification step in My.SSS. It does not automatically mean the loan was rejected.

First ask HR/payroll or the employer representative who handles SSS whether the application has already been electronically certified. If it has not been certified, follow up on employer certification. If it has been certified but My.SSS still shows Pending, stop troubleshooting the employer step and check the existing application for the next SSS status, message, correction request, or rejection notice.

SSS does not publish one universal number of days that every “Pending” Salary Loan status must clear. Treat the exact My.SSS stage as the starting point, not a generic countdown.

“Pending” is a stage, not a rejection

The most important question is what happened immediately before the status became Pending.

Application exists + Pending

Your Salary Loan application appears to have been recorded. Now check the certification and processing stage.

Waiting for employer certification

For employed members, the employer must electronically certify the application. Follow up with HR/payroll or the employer representative who handles SSS.

Certified but still Pending

Recheck My.SSS and your registered email for an SSS message, correction request, rejection notice, or status change before attempting another application.

Approved / Granted

This is no longer a Pending problem. Move to release and disbursement troubleshooting.

System error / rejection message

These are different intents. Use the System Error Guide or Error Code Checker for technical failures, and the Rejection Checker for an explicit rejection reason.

If you are an Employee or Kasambahay

SSS states that the employer of an employed member must electronically certify the Salary Loan application. The certification confirms, among other things, that the member is presently employed and that the member’s net take-home pay is sufficient to cover the monthly amortization.

Check these in order

  1. Confirm that the Salary Loan application is recorded in My.SSS.
  2. Ask HR/employer whether the application has already been electronically certified.
  3. If not yet certified, follow up with the employer first.
  4. If already certified, recheck My.SSS and your registered email for the next SSS status or instruction.
  5. If the status becomes Approved/Granted, move to the Salary Loan release guide.

If you are Self-Employed, Voluntary, NWS or OFW

These members do not use the same employer-certification route as an ordinary employed Salary Loan applicant. If an application is already recorded but remains Pending, focus on the My.SSS status, messages, current eligibility requirements, and your enrolled disbursement account.

Under the current Salary Loan rules, an eligible member must have an active disbursement account enrolled through DAEM. SSS releases approved Salary Loan proceeds through an eligible MySSS/UMID ATM Pay Card or an active member-owned PESONet bank account enrolled in DAEM.

Still Pending and you want to clear it so you can reapply?

This is a different problem from simply asking what Pending for Employer Certification means. If the existing Salary Loan application is blocking you from trying again, first identify whether it is still waiting for employer certification, already certified and under SSS processing, rejected, or already granted.

Do not assume there is a general member-facing Cancel/Delete button for every submitted application, and do not keep filing duplicate applications while the existing transaction is unresolved.

What NOT to do while your Salary Loan is Pending

Don’t immediately submit a duplicate application

First verify whether the original transaction is already recorded and what it is waiting for.

Don’t treat Pending as Rejected

If My.SSS specifically gives a rejection message or reason, use the rejection workflow instead.

Don’t keep troubleshooting employer certification after approval

Once the status is Approved/Granted, switch to release/DAEM/bank troubleshooting.

Don’t assume a fixed pending-day deadline

The correct action depends on the stage and the issue shown in My.SSS.

SSS Salary Loan Pending FAQ

A pending Salary Loan can mean the application is waiting for an employer-side certification step, still being processed by SSS, or has another dependency that has not yet completed. The correct next action depends on the exact status shown in My.SSS and whether you are an employed or direct-filing member.

No. Pending and rejected are different statuses. If My.SSS specifically shows that the loan application will be rejected or gives a rejection reason, use the dedicated Salary Loan Rejection Checker instead.

For an employed member, SSS requires the employer to electronically certify the Salary Loan application in My.SSS. The employer attests that the member is currently employed and that the net take-home pay can cover the loan amortization.

If certification is already completed, the case may still be in SSS processing. Recheck the status in My.SSS, review My.SSS messages or registered email, confirm that no correction or rejection notice appeared, and avoid submitting repeated applications unless SSS instructs you to do so.

Do not automatically submit a duplicate application just because the existing one is pending. First confirm whether an application is already recorded, whether employer certification is complete when applicable, and whether My.SSS shows an error or rejection message.

Do not assume a submitted pending application can always be deleted online. The correct next step depends on whether it is still waiting for employer certification, already certified and under SSS processing, rejected, or already granted. Use the separate cancellation/reapplication guide to identify the correct route before submitting another application.

If the application is already Approved or Granted, it is no longer mainly a pending-status problem. Move to the Salary Loan release or crediting guide and check the enrolled disbursement account.

SSS currently requires an active disbursement account enrolled through DAEM as part of Salary Loan eligibility. Approved loan proceeds are released through an eligible MySSS/UMID ATM Pay Card or a member-owned PESONet account enrolled in DAEM.
