Work-Related SSS Benefit Tool

SSS Employees' Compensation Calculator 2026

Check possible EC benefits for a work-related sickness, injury, disability or death.

EC is separate from Regular SSS. The key first question is whether the sickness, injury, disability or death is work-connected.

1. Worker type

2. Is it work-related?

3. What happened?

4. TTD / EC sickness estimate

Enter the six highest applicable MSCs used for the ADSC computation. EC TTD may be paid beginning on the first day of a compensable work-related disability; the Regular SSS four-day sickness minimum does not apply.

The calculator caps each MSC at ₱20,000 for Regular SS/EC benefit computation. Current-year company sick leave with pay does not have to be exhausted first for EC.

4. EC pension estimate

₱
Used for EC PTD and EC death. Up to five qualified dependent children may receive an additional 10% each of the EC monthly income benefit.
This does not appear to be an EC case. EC requires a work-connected sickness, injury, disability or death.
Possible EC exclusion. Compensation is not granted when the contingency resulted from intoxication/drunkenness, willful intent to injure or kill oneself or another, or notorious negligence.
Work connection needs SSS/ECC evaluation. A disease may still qualify if evidence shows the working conditions increased the risk.

Illustrative total across scheduled months ₱0.00

For scheduled periods of 12 months or less, SSS may pay the PPD income benefit as lump sum or monthly pension. The amount above is only a month-by-month illustration; SSS determines the actual PPD settlement and treatment of supplementary allowances.

PTD dependent-child estimate

Dependent pension per selected child ₱0.00
Selected dependent total ₱0.00

This dependent amount is separate from the worker's own EC PTD pension and remains subject to SSS beneficiary validation.

EC death / survivorship estimate

Primary-beneficiary monthly pension ₱0.00
Dependent pension per selected child ₱0.00
Selected dependent total ₱0.00

Final EC pension is determined by SSS/ECC. This tool uses the adopted SSS pension formula plus the 15% EC differential, the ₱2,000 EC minimum, and the ₱1,150 across-the-board EC pension increase, plus the ₱1,000 carer's allowance for permanent disability. It does not decide compensability, official AMSC/CYS, beneficiary qualification, or any later EC pension adjustment not yet published in the current public EC guides.

Current EC Funeral Benefit
₱30,000.00

This is separate from the Regular SSS Funeral Benefit and applies only to an EC-compensable death.

Possible EC medical / rehabilitation benefit

EC may cover eligible medical expenses, hospitalization, surgery, appliances and rehabilitation.

There is no single flat calculator amount because reimbursement depends on actual eligible expenses, medical records and the applicable reimbursement schedules.

What is Employees' Compensation?

The Employees' Compensation Program provides benefits for covered workers and/or their dependents when a sickness, injury, disability or death is work-related.

For private-sector workers, SSS administers the EC claim. EC is separate from the Regular SSS program.

Who is covered?

  • Private-sector employees
  • Kasambahays / household employees
  • Sea-based OFWs
  • Self-employed SSS members under applicable EC coverage, effective from their first EC-covered contribution

Land-based OFW note: ECC approved a policy/guidebook for expanding EC coverage to land-based OFWs, but the current SSS EC program page and ECC 2025 employee guide still list sea-based OFWs in the active private-sector coverage list. This calculator therefore does not automatically classify a land-based OFW as EC-covered; confirm the current implementation with SSS/ECC.

EC contribution

EC MSCEC contribution
Up to ₱14,500₱10
₱15,000 and above₱30

For employees/kasambahays, the employer pays EC. The same current EC contribution amounts apply to self-employed members.

Examples of work-related accidents

  • At the workplace
  • While performing official duties
  • Outside the workplace under employer instruction
  • Going to or coming home from work
  • In a company shuttle
  • During a company-sponsored activity
  • For seafarers, certain injuries sustained on board the vessel during free time or beyond regular working hours may also be compensable under current ECC policy

EC filing, notification and the 3-year period

EC claims generally must be filed within 3 years from the time the cause of action accrued. The reckoning date depends on the benefit:

  • TTD due to sickness: from the last confinement for multiple confinements due to the same illness, or the last time the worker could not report for work due to the illness, whichever applies.
  • PTD: from the time earning capacity was lost, such as termination/separation because of the illness.
  • Work-related injury: from the accident date.
  • Death: from the date of death.

Important prescription exception

If a claim for the same disability or death contingency was already filed with SSS under the regular Social Security law within the applicable 3-year period, ECC rules treat the corresponding EC disability/death claim as filed for prescription purposes.

Who files?

  • Employed EC sickness: employer/authorized representative files the EC sickness claim online through the SSS employer facility; approved payment goes directly to the employee's enrolled DAEM account.
  • Self-employed EC sickness: member files through My.SSS; approved payment goes to the enrolled DAEM account.
  • Disability, medical reimbursement, death and funeral: the worker, authorized representative or beneficiary files through the applicable SSS channel; the current ECC employee guide allows private-sector EC claims through My.SSS or the appropriate SSS branch depending on the claim/facility.

Notification

For employees, the employer should generally be notified within 5 days. Notice is not necessary when the contingency occurred during working hours, at the workplace and with the employer's knowledge.

For self-employed members, SSS states that home-confinement notification is made directly to SSS within 5 calendar days after the start of confinement; hospital-confinement notification may be made within one year from discharge. EC sickness does not require exhaustion of current-year paid sick leave.

Can Regular SSS and EC both be paid?

For private-sector workers, receiving a Regular SSS benefit does not by itself bar a separate EC benefit when the disability or death is work-related and EC requirements are met.

Important newer EC medical-reimbursement rules

Work-related death after medical treatment

Under ECC Board Resolution No. 25-07-14, qualified primary or secondary beneficiaries may claim eligible medical reimbursement when the covered worker was hospitalized for a work-related illness/injury, was entitled to reimbursement while alive, did not file it, and later died from that work-related condition.

Work-related injury even without a recorded absence on the accident date

Board Resolution No. 25-08-22 allows medical reimbursement in specified obvious work-related accident cases even when the employer did not consider the worker absent on the accident date, subject to the accident/logbook and medical-expense conditions in the policy.

Important limitation

This calculator cannot decide legal work-connectedness, occupational disease, disability degree, beneficiary status or final EC reimbursement. Those are determined by SSS/ECC. It also does not automatically apply the 2025–2027 Regular SSS Pension Reform percentage increases to EC pensions because the current public SSS EC program page and ECC employee guide do not publish an EC-specific updated factor/table for those tranches. Check the actual SSS EC pension award for the final current amount.
