Editorial & verification policy

Editorial & Verification Policy

How calculator rules, filing guidance and important numerical claims are checked, updated and corrected.

1Start with the rule

Identify the exact claim, formula or filing step that needs verification.

2Check primary sources

Use SSS, Philippine law and other official government material where available.

3Review the tool and text

Keep calculator logic and the explanation aligned.

4Record material changes

Meaningful corrections and clarifications go into the public update log.

How We Verify SSS Maternity Information

SSS Maternity Benefits Calculator is an independent information and planning website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Social Security System (SSS).

Primary sources first

Important rules, contribution references, filing procedures and benefit computations are checked against official SSS materials, applicable Philippine laws, official government publications and other primary sources whenever available.

Calculator verification

When a rule affects a calculator, the calculator logic and the supporting explanation are reviewed together. Important changes should be recorded in the site’s public update log so readers can see what changed and when.

Human editorial responsibility

Site content is reviewed under the direction of Nicky Wong, Editor. Automated or AI-assisted tools may be used to help with research, drafting, testing or development, but important SSS rules and numerical claims are checked before publication.

Corrections

If a material error is found, the affected content should be corrected and a short public note should be added to the update log when the change could affect a user’s understanding, calculation or filing decision.

Commercial relationships

The website may display advertising or partner offers. Commercial relationships do not determine SSS rules, calculator formulas or editorial conclusions. Partner offers should be clearly separated from SSS eligibility and benefit guidance.

Final authority

Only SSS can confirm a member’s official contribution record, eligibility, claim status and final benefit amount.
