SSS – Maternity

Solo Parent Extension

The Solo Parent Extension grants eligible solo parents an additional 15 days of paid maternity leave, increasing their total entitlement to 120 days. This extension was created to acknowledge the added responsibilities and caregiving challenges faced by single mothers, providing them more time to recover and bond with their child.

To claim the extension, the member must present a valid Solo Parent ID issued by the local government unit. This document must be submitted along with the maternity claim, and employers must verify the member's solo parent status before advancing the benefit.

This policy ensures that solo parents receive extra support during one of life’s most demanding events—childbirth—helping promote healthier postpartum recovery and improved work-life balance.
