SSS Maternity Computation 2026

Want to check if your SSS maternity amount is correct? This guide explains how SSS may compute your benefit using your posted contributions.

The calculator above computes the amount automatically, but the explanation below helps you understand why your result may be ₱35,000, ₱40,000, ₱70,000, or another amount.

How SSS Maternity Benefit Is Computed

This calculator follows the SSS maternity benefit formula and explains how your estimated amount is computed. You can use the result above to check your benefit amount, Average Daily Salary Credit, and qualifying period.

SSS maternity benefit is computed using your posted contributions, not simply your current salary. SSS looks at your Monthly Salary Credits, also called MSC, within your Qualifying Period.

Step 1: Find your Qualifying Period

Your Qualifying Period is the 12-month period before the semester of contingency. The semester of contingency is based on your expected delivery date, delivery date, miscarriage date, or other maternity-related contingency date.

Step 2: Identify your highest 6 Monthly Salary Credits

From the 12 months in your Qualifying Period, SSS considers the six (6) highest Monthly Salary Credits. These are based on your posted SSS contributions.

Step 3: Compute your Average Daily Salary Credit

Your Average Daily Salary Credit, or ADSC, is computed using this formula:

Formula:
Sum of highest 6 MSC ÷ 180 = Average Daily Salary Credit

Step 4: Multiply by the number of maternity leave days

After getting your ADSC, multiply it by the applicable maternity leave days:

  • 105 days - Normal delivery or Cesarean section
  • 120 days - Solo parent
  • 60 days - Miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or similar maternity contingency
Final formula:
Sum of highest 6 MSC ÷ 180 × maternity leave days = Estimated SSS maternity benefit

Example: Why is my SSS maternity benefit only ₱35,000?

If your estimated benefit is around ₱35,000 for 105 days, your computation may look like this:

₱35,000 ÷ 105 days = ₱333.33 ADSC
₱333.33 × 180 = ₱60,000 total MSC
₱60,000 ÷ 6 months = around ₱10,000 average MSC

This means your benefit may have been based on an average MSC of around ₱10,000 for your highest 6 months in the Qualifying Period.

Why your result may be lower than ₱70,000

To get ₱70,000 for 105 days, your highest 6 MSC usually need to average ₱20,000. Example: ₱20,000 × 6 ÷ 180 × 105 = ₱70,000. If your posted contributions are lower, missing, late, or outside the Qualifying Period, your benefit may also be lower.
