SSS – Contributions

Over-Remittance

Over-remittance occurs when contributions paid exceed the required amount for the member’s salary bracket or declared MSC. This can happen when employers duplicate payments, misreport salaries, or use incorrect PRNs.

When over-remittance happens, the excess amount may be applied to future periods or refunded after verification. Employers usually file adjustment forms to correct discrepancies.

Members should review their contribution history to ensure postings match their income. Persistent over-remittance may affect contribution accuracy and should be corrected promptly.
