Question

EDD: March 2027
Question from Ache
Aug 13, 2026

EDD ko po is march 2027, what are my qualifying months and monthly contributions to get 70000

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 13, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 For EDD March 2027, ang 12-month qualifying period mo ay October 2025 to September 2026. SSS requires at least 3 monthly contributions within this period, and for the maximum ₱70,000 maternity benefit (105 days), kailangan ang 6 highest MSC months mo ay ₱20,000 each.

So ideally, within October 2025–September 2026, mayroon kang at least 6 months na ₱20,000 MSC:

₱20,000 × 6 months = ₱120,000 total MSC
₱120,000 ÷ 180 = ₱666.67/day
₱666.67 × 105 days = ₱70,000 maternity benefit.

If Voluntary/Self-Employed, ang ₱20,000 MSC corresponds to about ₱3,000 regular SSS contribution per month under the 15% contribution rate. If Employee, hindi po kayo basta pipili ng hulog—the contribution is based on your actual monthly compensation and remitted by your employer.

⚠️ Important mommy: September 2026 ang last qualifying month mo. Your Semester of Contingency starts October 2026, and SSS says contributions paid within or after the semester of contingency are not considered in the maternity computation.

So para maabot ang ₱70,000, hindi sapat na magkaroon lang ng 3 contributions—you need 6 qualifying months at the ₱20,000 MSC level.

General Question EDD: May 2027
Question from Mommy

EDD KO PO MAY 2027 PWEDE KOPA BA BAYARAN UNG JULY 2026 NGYONG SEPTEMBER 2026 PO

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Sep 12, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 For EDD May 2027, ang qualifying period mo ay January–December 2026, so July 2026 ✅ counted sa MatBen computation.

Kung Voluntary/NWS member ka, puwede pa ang July contribution as part of the July–September quarter, payable on or before end of September 2026 this is for Matben Due date pero normaly sa SSS contribution kapag nag Generate ka ng PRN ang lalabas na Due date is on or before end of October. Kung Matben claim ka Mommy make sure mahulugan mo yan on or before end of September or as early as possible bago matapos ang last month ng Qualifying Period mo.

Kung Self-Employed ang membership type mo, sabihin mo lang mommy dahil iba ang current payment deadline rule natin iche-check.

Question

Employer / Resigned / Separated
Question from Mommy
Sep 10, 2026

EDD ko is January 2027. Nahulugan po ng employer ko yung February - June 2026 then by July is Voluntary member na po ako and I paid 3,000 pesos. May possibility po ba na maqualify for 70,000 na MatBen

February - 1,350
March - 1,875
April - 1,800
May - 1,800
June - 750

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Sep 12, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 For EDD January 2027, ang qualifying period mo ay October 2025–September 2026. Counted lahat ng February–June employer contributions at July voluntary contribution mo. SSS uses the 6 highest MSCs within this period.

Based sa amounts na binigay mo kung ito yung total contribution amounts posted sa My.SSS, roughly ito ang MSC:

February ₱1,350 → ₱9,000 MSC
March ₱1,875 → ₱12,500 MSC
April ₱1,800 → ₱12,000 MSC
May ₱1,800 → ₱12,000 MSC
June ₱750 → ₱5,000 MSC
July ₱3,000 Voluntary → ₱20,000 MSC

So qualified ka na, pero kung hanggang July lang ang ₱3,000 contribution mo, estimated MatBen is around ₱41,125, not ₱70,000.

Kung mag-₱3,000 ka rin for August at September, estimated MatBen could increase to around ₱56,292.

Question

Salary Differential EDD: December 2026
Question from Mommy
Sep 10, 2026

Hello po, EDD ko po ay December 2026 and nag voluntary payment ako for April 2026, May 2026 and June 2026 then I got hired po ng May 2026. Since hindi po ko po full makukuha ang ₱70,000 from SSS since 3months lang po ang contributions within the qualifying period, is my company mandated to pay me the salary differential? For context, monthly salary is approximately ₱100,000.

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Sep 12, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 Yes po, generally mandated ang current employer mo na magbayad ng salary differential, kahit 3 months lang ang contributions na ginamit ng SSS sa MatBen computation, as long as employed ka when you avail maternity leave and hindi DOLE-exempt ang company.

For EDD December 2026, qualifying period mo is July 2025–June 2026.

Ang setup is:

Full pay for 105 days based sa regular salary mo
minus actual SSS MatBen
= salary differential na sagot ng employer.

So with around ₱100,000/month salary, malaking amount ang possible salary differential because your full pay for 105 days is roughly ₱350,000, then ibabawas ang actual SSS MatBen and applicable employee contributions.

Also check mommy kung may employer contributions for May–June 2026, since hired ka na noong May. Those months could also affect your SSS MatBen computation.
