Question

Self-Employed Miscarriage / Stillbirth EDD: August 2025
Question from Kristille
Aug 24, 2026

Na miscarriage po ako nung august 21 2026, may hulog po ako ng july 2026 to august 2026 may makukuha po ba akong maternity benefits?

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 24, 2026

Kailangan may at least 3 valid monthly contributions within this period para maka-qualify sa SSS maternity benefit.

Yung hulog mo na July at August 2026 ❌ hindi na counted for this miscarriage claim dahil outside na sila sa qualifying period.

So kung July–August 2026 lang talaga ang contributions mo at wala kang at least 3 hulog from April 2025–March 2026, unfortunately hindi ka qualified sa SSS maternity benefit for this miscarriage.

For miscarriage, qualified members can receive a benefit based on 60 days.

Check mo muna mommy ang My.SSS contribution history mo baka may older contributions ka within April 2025–March 2026—kung meron at umabot sa 3 months, possible ka pa ring qualified.

Question

Voluntary Miscarriage / Stillbirth EDD: August 2026
Question from Shiela
Aug 26, 2026

Unfortunately, I had an inevitable miscarriage last August 23, 2026 Sunday at 5am at Cebu Velez General Hospital due to severe vaginal bleeding. Before this happened, I had already filed for sss maternity notification. How to apply for a miscarriage online?

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 27, 2026

Hi mommy, I’m sorry you went through this. 💛 Since the actual miscarriage date was August 23, 2026 and nakapag-file ka na ng Maternity Notification, puwede ka nang mag-file ng Maternity Benefit Application for miscarriage once complete ang medical documents mo. SSS provides 60 days of maternity benefit for miscarriage, provided qualified ka based on contributions.

If Voluntary / Self-Employed / OFW / NWS / separated from employment, gawin ito online:

Log in sa My.SSS
Go to Benefits → Apply for Maternity Benefit
Enter August 23, 2026 as the miscarriage date.
Upload your supporting documents.
Submit the application. Make sure may approved DAEM/disbursement account ka.

For miscarriage, prepare:

Proof of pregnancy — ultrasound, Beta HCG/blood pregnancy test, or physician-signed pregnancy test
Proof of miscarriage — ultrasound, histopathology, Operating Room Record, or other accepted physician-signed proof
Medical Certificate, Clinical Abstract/Discharge Summary, or Record of Consultation signed by your doctor.

Since nangyari sa Cebu Velez General Hospital, magandang kunin mo ang Clinical Abstract/Discharge Summary and ultrasound/medical records bago mag-file.

Your qualifying period for the August 23, 2026 miscarriage is April 2025–March 2026. If may at least 3 valid contributions ka within that period, possible kang qualified for the 60-day MatBen.

If currently employed ka, sabihin mo sa HR/employer dahil employer ang magpo-process/advance ng maternity benefit rather than ikaw ang direct individual claimant.

Question

Self-Employed Late Claim / Past Maternity
Question from Emmylou
Aug 24, 2026

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 24, 2026

Kailangan may at least 3 valid contributions within that period.

SSS only considers qualifying contributions paid before the applicable maternity cutoff.

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 24, 2026

SSS covers miscarriage regardless of how early the pregnancy ended, provided may medical proof of pregnancy and miscarriage.

Usually kailangan din ng documents such as proof of pregnancy (pregnancy test, ultrasound, Beta HCG, etc.), proof of miscarriage/termination, at medical certificate or clinical records signed by a doctor.
