Question

Voluntary Employer / Resigned / Separated
Question from Brenda
Aug 24, 2026

Can i still need a confirmation from past employer for my maternity benefits?

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 24, 2026

Yes mommy, possible na kailangan mo pa rin ng confirmation/document from your past employer, lalo na kung nanganak ka within 6 months from separation.

Usually ang hinihingi ni SSS is Certificate of Separation from Employment na nakalagay ang:

1. effective date of separation
2. statement na wala kang natanggap na advance maternity benefit / no advance payment

This is listed by SSS for separated employment cases. Kung hindi mo makuha ang certificate, SSS also mentions an Affidavit of Undertaking as possible alternative for members who cannot secure the Certificate of Separation.

Simple answer:
Yes mommy, ask your previous HR/employer for Certificate of Separation with No Advance Payment.

Question

Employer / Resigned / Separated
Question from Mommy
Sep 10, 2026

EDD ko is January 2027. Nahulugan po ng employer ko yung February - June 2026 then by July is Voluntary member na po ako and I paid 3,000 pesos. May possibility po ba na maqualify for 70,000 na MatBen

February - 1,350
March - 1,875
April - 1,800
May - 1,800
June - 750

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Sep 12, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 For EDD January 2027, ang qualifying period mo ay October 2025–September 2026. Counted lahat ng February–June employer contributions at July voluntary contribution mo. SSS uses the 6 highest MSCs within this period.

Based sa amounts na binigay mo kung ito yung total contribution amounts posted sa My.SSS, roughly ito ang MSC:

February ₱1,350 → ₱9,000 MSC
March ₱1,875 → ₱12,500 MSC
April ₱1,800 → ₱12,000 MSC
May ₱1,800 → ₱12,000 MSC
June ₱750 → ₱5,000 MSC
July ₱3,000 Voluntary → ₱20,000 MSC

So qualified ka na, pero kung hanggang July lang ang ₱3,000 contribution mo, estimated MatBen is around ₱41,125, not ₱70,000.

Kung mag-₱3,000 ka rin for August at September, estimated MatBen could increase to around ₱56,292.

Question

Voluntary Contribution / Payment Deadline EDD: July 2020
Question from Mommy
Sep 8, 2026

EDD of ectopic pregnancy July 20,2020 tapos may hulog ako january hanggang june 2020

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Sep 12, 2026

January 2020 ✅ counted
February 2020 ✅ counted
March 2020 ✅ counted

If valid at properly paid ang January–March 2020, mayroon kang required 3 qualifying contributions, so possible kang qualified for SSS maternity benefit for 60 days dahil covered ang ectopic pregnancy under miscarriage/ETP benefits.

Good news din mommy: SSS maternity claims may be filed within 10 years from the date of miscarriage/ETP, so kung July 20, 2020 ang actual date, possible pa ring mag-file ngayon subject to SSS validation and complete medical documents.

Question

Employer / Resigned / Separated
Question from Mommy
Sep 5, 2026

Nanganak Ako nung July 2026 then nag submit amo sa employer ko ng requirements since it was 1 week already matapos nung mag submit Ako nag ask Ako ng update sa HR namin sabi nya process na daw but sa my sss portal ko Wala pang history ng Maternity Application at Wala pa ring email si sss

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Sep 7, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 Since employed ka and na-submit mo na sa HR ang requirements, possible na internal processing pa lang sa employer kaya wala ka pang nakikitang Maternity Application history or email from SSS.

For employed members, the employer normally advances the maternity benefit first, then sila ang magfa-file ng Maternity Benefit Reimbursement Application (MBRA) sa My.SSS after they have paid you. SSS states that the employer should advance the full maternity benefit within 30 days from the filing of your maternity leave application.

So mommy, magandang itanong kay HR:

“Na-submit na po ba sa SSS My.SSS Employer account ang maternity reimbursement application, or internal processing pa lang po?”

Kung one week pa lang since nagsubmit ka, possible normal pa po iyon. Pero keep your documents and ask HR for the SSS transaction/reference number once officially submitted para may proof ka na filed na talaga.
