Question
My plan is to continue contributing to SSS as a voluntary member for November and December 2026 because I will be resigning from my job. My employer has been contributing to my SSS from July to October 2026. Is it possible for me to pay my contributions voluntarily for November and December after my resignation? I want to make sure that my contributions will be posted properly and that I can use them for my maternity benefits.
Hi mommy 😊 **Yes, puwede.** Since **EDD May 2027**, ang qualifying period mo is **January–December 2026**.
If hanggang **end of October 2026** ka employed:
✅ **July–October 2026** — employer contributions mo can count
✅ After your employment officially ends, you can continue as **Voluntary for November and December 2026**
✅ November and December are also within your qualifying period
After separation, when generating your PRN in My.SSS, choose **Voluntary Member** as the membership type. No separate form is normally needed to change from Employee to Voluntary after separation.
Important: for your **May 2027 maternity claim**, make sure the November and December contributions are **valid and posted before January 2027**, because SSS only considers contributions paid before the maternity semester begins.
Since you will already be separated by the time you give birth, SSS may **pay your maternity benefit directly to you** instead of through your former employer, so make sure you also have an approved **DAEM/disbursement account**.

Also, while employed now, make sure you have already informed your employer/HR about your pregnancy and **MAT-1/Maternity Notification**.
