SSS Loan Overpayment

Loan Overpayment Refund

A Loan Overpayment Refund is the process by which SSS returns excess loan payments to a member. After verifying that the borrower indeed paid more than the outstanding balance, SSS releases the refund either through a bank deposit, check, or credit to the member’s disbursement account.\n\nRefund processing requires supporting documents, including valid identification, payment receipts, and a formal request form. In some cases, SSS may require employer certification if the overpayment came from payroll deductions. Processing may take several weeks depending on the completeness of documents and the accuracy of the loan records.\n\nMembers are encouraged to monitor their loan balances regularly to prevent overpayments and file a refund request as soon as discrepancies are noticed.
