SSS – Contributions

Salary Bracket

A salary bracket represents the income range used by SSS to assign a member's Monthly Salary Credit (MSC). Each bracket corresponds to a predefined MSC value that determines the required contribution payment.

Employers must report employee salaries accurately to ensure they fall within the correct bracket. Incorrect reporting—such as declaring a lower salary—may reduce an employee's future benefit amounts, including sickness, maternity, or retirement claims.

Understanding salary brackets helps members verify whether their contributions match their real compensation and prevents contribution errors or underpayments.
