SSS – Contributions

Self-Employed Contribution

Self-employed contributions are payments made entirely by individuals who earn income from their own business, trade, or profession. Unlike employed members, self-employed individuals pay both the employer and employee portions.

Self-employed members must declare realistic income levels to determine the correct Monthly Salary Credit (MSC). Under-declaring income results in lower contributions but may reduce future benefit amounts significantly.

Because self-employed members manage their own payments, monitoring PRN generation, posting accuracy, and contribution schedules is essential to ensure continuous eligibility for SSS benefits.
