SSS – Sickness

Sickness Notification

Sickness Notification is the formal process of informing SSS about a member’s sickness or injury. For employed members, the employer must file the notification within five days after the employee returns to work. Self-employed, voluntary, and OFW members must notify SSS within five days from the start of incapacity. Hospital confinement allows a grace period of up to one year. Timely notification is crucial because late filing may reduce or invalidate the employer’s reimbursement.
