SSS – Contributions

Under-Remittance

Under-remittance refers to paying less than the required contribution amount for a member's salary bracket. This is often caused by employer errors, incorrect reporting, or voluntary members choosing a lower MSC than required.

Under-remittance may result in reduced benefit computations or ineligibility for certain claims that require minimum contribution levels. SSS may also impose penalties or require payment adjustments.

Members should verify that their declared income and corresponding MSC align correctly. Early correction prevents long-term issues, especially for retirement and pension calculations.
