SSS – Benefit Computation

Benefit Ceiling

The benefit ceiling represents the maximum amount a member can receive for certain SSS benefits. This cap ensures the system remains financially sustainable while still providing fair support.

Benefit ceilings apply to computations based on MSC limits. Even if a member’s actual salary is higher, contributions and benefits are calculated using the maximum MSC allowed by the SSS Contribution Table.

Understanding the benefit ceiling helps manage expectations for high-income earners who may assume their higher salary will proportionately increase their benefits. In reality, the SSS cap restricts the maximum payout.
