Question

Self-Employed Contribution / Payment Deadline EDD: April 2027
Question from ynna
Aug 19, 2026

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 19, 2026

Question

Self-Employed Contribution / Payment Deadline EDD: March 2027
Question from ynna
Aug 19, 2026

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 19, 2026

For Self-Employed members, ang July contribution may be paid on or before August 31, 2026.

For EDD March 2027, ang qualifying period mo ay October 2025–September 2026. Kaya:

July 2026 āœ…
August 2026 āœ…
September 2026 āœ…

Kung wala ka pang ibang qualifying contributions, itong 3 months na ito can meet the minimum requirement, provided valid at properly posted sila. SSS requires at least 3 qualifying monthly contributions.

Important mommy: para maisama lahat sa March 2027 MatBen, make sure na mabayaran ang July, August, at September on or before September 30, 2026.

Question

Employee General Question
Question from Gracelyn
Aug 19, 2026

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 19, 2026

Kailangan may at least 3 valid contributions within that period para maka-qualify.

Since separated ka na, SSS can pay the maternity benefit directly to you after delivery once approved. Dahil June 6 lang ang separation mo at September ang delivery, prepare din ang Certificate of Separation and no advance payment in case hingin sa claim.

Question

Employee Salary Differential
Question from Klaren
Aug 18, 2026

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 18, 2026

SSS itself defines salary differential as the difference between the SSS cash benefit and the employee’s regular wage for the whole maternity leave.

So simple version:

Full salary for maternity leave
minus SSS MatBen

Question

Employee General Question
Question from AP
Aug 18, 2026

Employee gave birth 29 July 2026. Hired in November 2025 which she received Php11500 (prorated). Her monthly salary is Php25000.
Contribution posted in SSS (previous employer)
Apr2025 - Php4425
May2025 - Php4650
June2025 - Php4950
July2025 - Php3075
Aug-Oct2025 - Php0

How much would be the full pay and the salary differential? Thank yoo

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 18, 2026

Hi po 😊 Since actual delivery was July 29, 2026, the 12-month qualifying period is April 2025–March 2026.

Based on the contributions you gave plus the assumption that your company properly posted her Dec 2025–Mar 2026 contributions based on the ₱25,000 salary, she appears to have at least 6 months reaching the ₱20,000 MSC maternity-benefit ceiling. SSS uses the 6 highest MSCs and caps the Regular SSS benefit computation at ₱20,000 MSC.

So estimated SSS MatBen for 105 days:

₱20,000 Ɨ 6 Ć· 180 Ɨ 105 = ₱70,000 āœ…

For her current salary of ₱25,000/month:

Full pay for 105 days:
₱25,000 Ɨ 3.5 months = ₱87,500

Gross salary differential:
₱87,500 āˆ’ ₱70,000 = ₱17,500

Under the maternity-leave rules, the employer generally shoulders the difference between full pay and the SSS benefit, unless the employer qualifies for an approved exemption.

So your working figures are approximately:

SSS MatBen: ₱70,000
Full pay: ₱87,500
Gross salary differential: ₱17,500

The final payroll salary differential may be slightly lower after the employee’s applicable SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG premium shares for the maternity period are considered under the DOLE computation.

The ₱11,500 prorated November salary should not reduce the ₱70,000 estimate because there appear to be more than six other qualifying months already reaching the ₱20,000 MSC ceiling.

Question

Voluntary General Question EDD: October 2026
Question from Kiara
Aug 18, 2026

My expected delivery date is October 7, 2026. What if I accidentally gave birth by September 2026 instead of the EDD? What will be the coverage?

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 18, 2026

Hi mommy 😊 If your EDD is October 7, 2026 but you actually give birth in September 2026, SSS will use your actual delivery date, not the original EDD, for the maternity benefit computation.

If delivery happens anytime in September 2026, your:

12-month qualifying period: April 2025–March 2026

So contributions from April–June 2026 would no longer be included in this MatBen computation. SSS will look at your qualifying contributions from April 2025 to March 2026, and you need at least 3 valid contributions there.

If it is a live childbirth, even if premature, you still get 105 compensable days (120 days if qualified solo parent).

So mommy, giving birth in September instead of October can change your qualifying period and possibly your benefit amount.

Question

Employee General Question
Question from MARY
Aug 18, 2026

Good day! Ma'am/Sir

I would like to ask about my eligibility for maternity benefits.

I started working in October 2025, and my SSS contributions were from October 2025 to February 2026, for a total of five (5) monthly contributions. I filed my maternity leave during the last week of February because I gave birth in March 2026.

At that time, our HR informed me that I was not eligible because I only had five contributions, and they said six monthly contributions were required.

I have now returned to work, and my baby is already four months old. I would like to ask if it is still possible for me to apply for or refile my maternity benefit now that I have continued working.

I would appreciate your guidance on whether I am still eligible and what steps I need to take.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 18, 2026

Mommy, based sa March 2026 delivery, ang qualifying period mo is October 2024 to September 2025.

Ang rule is at least 3 paid contributions, pero dapat nasa tamang qualifying period before the semester of delivery.

Since ang hulog mo ay October 2025 to February 2026, hindi na po sila counted for March 2026 delivery kasi nasa semester of contingency na po sila. Contributions paid within or after the semester of contingency are not considered for maternity qualification/computation.

So simple answer:
Kung wala kang hulog from October 2024 to September 2025, possible po na hindi ka qualified sa SSS maternity benefit for March 2026 delivery. Continuing to work now will not change the qualifying period for that past delivery.

But you can still ask HR or SSS to check officially, lalo na kung may older SSS contributions ka before October 2025.

Question from KJ
Aug 18, 2026

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 18, 2026

Question

Employee General Question EDD: August 2026
Question from Rose
Aug 18, 2026

EDD ng isang employee namin ay Dec 6, 2026 pero she gave birth on August 15, 2026, ano po ang qualifying months at same din ba na 105 days ang computation?

Answer from SSS Maternity Calculator Team Answered Aug 18, 2026

Kailangan may at least 3 monthly contributions within this period para maka-qualify.

And yes po, 105 days pa rin kung live childbirth, kahit premature delivery at kahit normal or CS.

So for your employee:

Actual delivery: August 15, 2026
Qualifying period: April 2025–March 2026
Benefit days: 105 days for live childbirth āœ…

If qualified solo parent siya, possible ang additional 15 days, making it 120 days.
