SSS – Beneficiaries

Proof of Filiation

Proof of Filiation refers to documents demonstrating that a child claiming survivorship or dependent benefits is legally related to the deceased member. A PSA birth certificate is the primary proof. Additional documents such as acknowledgment affidavits, adoption papers, or court orders may also be required.

For illegitimate children, proof of paternity or maternity must be established through legal or documentary evidence. Disabled children must submit medical documentation proving permanent incapacity.

Accurate proof of filiation ensures proper pension distribution and prevents fraudulent claims.
