SSS – Beneficiaries

Proof of Marriage

Proof of Marriage refers to the legal documents required to establish that the surviving spouse is legally married to the deceased SSS member. The primary document is a PSA-issued marriage certificate. Additional affidavits, IDs, or court documents may be required if discrepancies exist.

SSS may request further validation in cases involving separation, bigamy allegations, or irregular marriage records.

Providing complete marriage documentation helps avoid claimant disputes and ensures smooth benefit processing.
